CNNS has recently become a partner of a three-year EU-financed project with the goal of developing cruise tourism to Northwest Russia. Stakeholders from Northern Norway, Finland and Russia will contribute to the ports in Murmansk and Arkhangelsk gaining a better understanding of the cruise industry, as well as ensuring the various cruise ports are better equipped to deliver port calls in accordance with western standards.
“This as an exciting project with an enormous potential, also with respect to our ports in Northern Norway,” says the Managing Director of CNNS, Erik Joachimsen. “The new turnaround port at the Port of Lakselv makes it possible to go on week-long cruises with several Russian destinations on the schedule. In my opinion, one of the most exciting destinations is the Solovetsky Islands World Heritage site, not to mention the many ports in Northern Norway that have not yet been discovered by many cruise lines.”
