All the assets of Narvikfjellet, including the alpine ski centre and cable car in Narvik, will soon have one owner. This is the start of a massive investment in tourism in the city of Narvik.

Narvik Travel Development (NRU) recently presented Narvik’s plans for investment in alpine skiing, cruise and train. With good support from Innovation Norway and financing via capital-intensive companies, NRU will develop “Europe’s most urban alpine ski resort”.
Traditional cruise seasons in Northern Europe are changing and bringing about a breakthrough for winter cruising to Norway, the final panel session of the Seatrade Europe 2013 conference concluded.

Wenche Nygård Eeg, managing director of Cruise Norway, said that Norway was dynamically turning into a year-round destination with a rapidly increasing number of calls in the off-season.
The first winter cruise to Norway took place in 2009 with a visit of Saga responding to a targetted marketing initiative of Cruise Norway.
As of 1st July 2012 the Pilotage Act and regulations issued pursuant to the act were made applicable to Svalbard, thus introducing the state pilotage service, compulsory pilotage and PEC on Svalbard.
CNNS wishes to promote festivals, concerts and events to cruiseliners and cruise agents, since we notice that many customers focuses on destinations.
