1 Taste of Dog Sledging

Top Image: 1444

The bus and local guide meet the guest at the pier.  During the trip to the dog centre the guest will be informed about Alta and its history, culture, economy and day-to-day live.  We drive up the Alta Valley and to the dog sledge centre. Try to sit in a dog sledge for a 20 min tour.  After that they will serve coffee/tea and cakes in the lavvu.  The group will be divided into two.  One start with dog sledding  the other with coffee in the lavvo. In the lavvo  they will explain how they train the huskies, and prepare the huskies for the Finnmarksløpet race, a true test of stamina and Europe’s longest dog race covering 1000 km. Remember the track you have to walk on is on snow.
