Top Image: 2931

Make time for a visit to Vevelstad Museum which will take you on an exciting journey in Norwegian cultural history and tell the story about Trollfjell Geopark. You can see our extensive rock display at the museum, collected from all over Helgeland, and a film about the region’s mountain and myths. The museum also provides a unique opportunity to hear more about the 6000 year old rock carvings located in relative proximity. The church is a wooden construction which was dedicated on the 16. September 1796. The altar piece, the pulpit and the mural on the transverse wall,  are art treasures painted by the Italian painter Joseph Pisani (1760-1833). His motives are Mediterranean in color and shape. The chasuble dates from 1796 and is possibly one of the oldest still in use in Norway.
